President-elect. Kate Burke was voted President-elect and made brief remarks in acceptance.

VASTA Vision. Following up from two-day retreat, discussion of virtual conference and dialects as a possible topic. Board made specific decisions and appointments re organization of each area of the Vision: Communications, Advocacy, International, Training, and Financial. KB will outline retreat for Newsletter.

Budget Report. KU distributed copies of 96 Budget close-out and 98 estimated. Board made corrections/updates to 97 budget.

Clyde Vinson Scholarship

Nominations are still being sought for the Clyde Vinson Scholarship and the deadline for applications requests has been extended to April 15, 1998. The award will be presented at this summer's VASTA conference in San Antonio to an outstanding young professional (five years experience or less) or pre-professional in the field.

Nominations for the Vinson Scholarship must be made in writing by a VASTA member. Upon receipt of this letter an application form will be sent to the applicant. Minorities are encouraged to apply.
