Statement of Philosophy:
The concept of “freeing the natural voice” guides my teaching in all aspects of voice work (diction, phonetics, voice production, text, movement, etc.). My goal is to help actors develop voices of power, flexibility and expression. I draw on a variety of established and innovative approaches to voice training based on the needs of each teaching-coaching situation. Dialect research and performance is another important area of focus. Using audio, visual, kinesthetic and culture-study approaches to learning the IPA and speech variation, actors discover new possibilities for the voice and can develop dialects that are accurate, consistent and believable for performance.
