Voice & speech for the Business Professional
Professional Organizations: VASTA, ATHE
Statement of Philosophy: Our speaking voice is both personal
and public. It is connected to the core of who we are. It is linked to our past,
our emotions, our motivations and desires, and to our health. Our voice reveals
our essence to the world. Whether we are confident, secure, happy, healthy,
inspired, or intimidated our voice tells all. People make judgements about us
as soon as we open our mouths, as soon as we utter a word. Rightly or not, we
are found to be educated or not, professional or not, calm and confident or
not, acceptable or not, hirable or not, believable or not. These assumptions
are often formed solely on the quality of our voice and the clarity of our speech.
As a voice and speech coach my job is help the actor or client achieve optimal
use of the vocal mechanism. With a highly eclectic approach, a wide range of
methods can be found to help each individual achieve their vocal goals.
