Brianne Taylor is the Assistant Professor of Voice & Speech at the UMKC Conservatory, a voice and dialect coach, and a performer. She utilizes the work in development of breath awareness, vocal structuring, authenticity in the speaking voice that is aligned with the individual’s artistic voice, and creative approaches to performance and writing. Her study of the expressive voice has led the development of her one woman show, Keeper of the Plains: an exploration of the femme voices of the masculine, agricultural dominated American Great Plains. She is also a mother and is engaged in the study of how the female body and voice changes over the various courses of life.

Brianne has had the privilege to train with master teacher and founder of the Fitzmaurice Institute, Catherine Fitzmaurice. Her study of the technique has led her to train with various master teachers of the voice throughout North America and Europe. She has taught students and worked with clients around the globe.

Brianne has coached Comedy of Tenors and the National Players 70th Tour (Around the World in 80 Days, The Crucilbe, Twelfth Night) at Only Theatre Center // Ciao Bambino with 13th Street Rep in NYC // King Lear (film, WVU and West Virginia Public Broadcasting, regional Emmy nomination) // Steel Magnolias, Curious Incident, Sherlock Holmes: the Final Adventure, A Christmas Carol (WV Public Theatre) // Anatomy of a Suicide, Bright Star, Right to Be Forgotten, Indecent, The Skriker, Airness, Hedda Gabbler, Mud, Cloud 9 (WVU). She has performed professionally (We Are Pussy Riot, Everything You Touch) at The Contemporary American Theater Festival in Shepherdstown, VA and with various companies in Washington, DC.

She is a Certified Assistant Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®, a Certified Knight-Thompson Speechwork Instructor, a proud member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association, and an Equity Membership Candidate.
